These costs are per magazine, per month. Sixth of a page ads are booked on a minimum three month contract only. We offer extra discounts if advertisements are placed in both magazines or are booked on an agreed contract basis. Basic artwork is included in the price if required.

What can a magazine offer that social media doesn’t?
Social media can be an incredibly useful advertising tool but just posting on a Facebook page or within a Facebook Group is not really that effective. You need to spend time and usually good money to use social media to good effect. Basic posts only last a very short period and unless you want to spend hours and money boosting your posts you won’t reach that many people and will quickly disappear. Instagramming also takes a lot of time to build up you’re following and also only has a short shelf life. And are people really interested in seeing the latest shower your plumbing service has just installed?
Copies of our magazines are frequently kept in the home for reference for a whole month until the next edition hits the doormat. And we know from past experience that sometimes they are kept for months and even years!!
How many people could potentially see my advertising?
When you buy advertising space what you are paying for is people. Not the paper your ad is printed on or the glossy articles within the magazine but the amount of people you may be able to reach with it and for how long.
Some magazines which only publish every other month will claim you are paying for two months advertising. This is false. That magazine will only be distributed once so the people who receive then will not be seeing it twice!!
As most magazines and newspapers will be read by more than one person the potential readership of a magazine is usually calculated as the amount printed/distributed multiplied by an average of 2.4 readers per copy. So Within Reach has the potential to be seen by 24,000 people every month!
How do I know that the magazines are distributed properly?
This is a fair question when you are considering advertising or distributing leaflets with a free and hand delivered publication. There are plenty of cowboys about who take the money and run and we have met some of them!!
The best bet is to see how long the magazines have been operating and whether they have loyal and regular advertisers who obviously trust them. And ask around. Have your friends or neighbours seen or heard of the magazine before? With over 21 years of distributing magazines we have acquired a great reputation for making sure our readers have regularly seen them month in and month out. We keep our distribution teams well looked after so they are incentivised to do their jobs properly and efficiently.
How long should I advertise for? And what size ad is right for my business?
The answer to both will depend very much on what business or product you are advertising. Also of course on our budget.
For most trades you will be looking for ongoing and future business, even when times are busy. So a smaller ad in a regular slot is your best bet. Remember that whilst people may not need your services one particular month , they may well need you next month and will know where to find you! If you are in retail and frequently change your stock or offers then a larger ad will be necessary so you can sell ‘off the page’. Plan your budget. Better to take a smaller ad regularly (which you will benefit from a discount with too!) and stretch you budget than blow it all in one go with a full page!!
